On a trip to Portland, we hiked the Henline Falls Trail in Oregon. Although the trail is a farther drive south of Portland and the road was bumpy with pot holes, this low-trafficked trail has quickly become one of our favourites in the Pacific Northwest.

On a trip to Sunshine Coast in British Columbia, we squeezed in a couple of hikes with our dog Markus. On this update, we're breaking down the second hike we did - the Skookumchuck Narrows, a hike that offers a very unique taste of British Columbia.

Last weekend, we took our first official overnighter trip with Markus to Salt Spring Island in British Columbia. We wanted to share some of our highlights while we were on the island, places we stayed and the trip getting there (which requires a ferry)!

We've had our new dog Markus from Korea for 10 days now, so we're still early in the feeling out process for each other. On this week's check-in, we're sharing the things we've already learned about Markus and some other things we've done together.

Meet Markus! He's a Shiba Inu/Jindo mix, who has the face of a Shiba Inu, but the size of a Jindo. The result? An oversized looking Shiba Inu. In our limited time together, people haven't been shy to tell us, "Wow! That's a big Shiba!"
