About Marina Beach Park
Length: 1.9km
Traffic: Low
Route Type: Out & Back
During our recent stay in Edmonds, Washington, we had the pleasure of visiting the charming Marina Beach Park. While a small mishap led us to park a little further away, it unexpectedly turned into an enjoyable walk to the park, allowing us to soak in the surrounding beauty of the area and seeing boats get loaded with a giant forklift. Located by the water's edge, Marina Beach Park offers a delightful coastal experience, although direct access to the water is limited from the park itself.
As we explored Marina Beach Park, we discovered a delightful surprise towards the end of the park โ a dedicated off-leash dog park. This fenced area not only provided ample space for dogs to run and play freely, but also offered beach access specifically designated for our dogs. Although our reactive dog Markus couldn't partake in the fun, it was heartwarming to witness the joy and enthusiasm of other dogs as they splashed in and out of the water. The dog-park didn't look like it had much for dogs other than it being just a big space for them to run around.
While direct access to the water from Marina Beach Park is limited, the park itself offers other amenities and recreational opportunities. The well-maintained green spaces provide an ideal setting for picnics, leisurely walks, or simply enjoying the coastal ambiance. With benches strategically placed throughout the park, visitors can take a moment to relax, breathe in the fresh sea air and admire the panoramic views of the water.
Whether you're looking for a peaceful stroll, a spot to relax and soak up the coastal atmosphere or a dedicated off-leash area for your furry friend to play, Marina Beach Park offers a delightful respite along the beautiful Edmonds shoreline. In our case, it was a great way to take our morning walk. Next time you find yourself in Edmonds, don't miss the opportunity to visit Marina Beach Park and immerse yourself in its coastal charm. Embrace the scenic surroundings, explore the park's amenities, and witness the joyous energy of dogs as they revel in the designated off-leash area and frolic in the water.
Our Recommendation for Reactive Dogs
If you're a dog owner with a reactive pup, Marina Beach Park in Edmonds, Washington, is a nice stroll that should be on your radar. This tranquil park offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for dogs who may be sensitive to bustling crowds or excessive activity. While the park itself doesn't provide direct access to the water, its calm ambiance allows reactive dogs to enjoy a quiet and stress-free outing.
One of the major advantages of Marina Beach Park for reactive dogs is the presence of a dedicated off-leash dog park. Located towards the end of the park, this fenced area ensures that active dogs are contained within a separate space, providing peace of mind for dog owners. By keeping the lively and energetic dogs in the dog park, Marina Beach Park allows reactive dogs to explore the surrounding green spaces without unnecessary interaction or potential triggers.
What we liked about the trail
It was quiet and had great views, perfect for morning walks.
The dog park was well-maintained and provided a space for friendlier dogs to play. This left the rest of the park quieter for reactive dogs.
What we didn't like about the trail
While the park was fairly decent for reactive dogs, there were quite a few areas where dogs weren't allowed like towards the beach. We mostly had to stay on the path or the grass, which was fine, but it'd be nice to get closer to the water.
